## The Client**Central Social Hall had spent more than a decade earning its place in Edmonton, two locations deep and a pandemic behind them. Now they were ready for a third, in the south-side neighbourhood of Ellerslie. We built the original brand ten years earlier and work with Central every day, so we knew the business as well as they did. This wasn't a new client. It was a long partnership reaching its next chapter.**### The Problem The launch had to do two jobs at once. Announce a new location, and quietly steer the whole brand toward a more casual food-and-drink feel. A new neighbourhood meant a new audience, with its own age, its own rhythm, its own reasons to walk in the door. Opening the doors was the easy part. It also picks up habits. The opportunity wasn't to start over. It was to evolve what already worked into a system flexible enough to flex both ways, for the group as a whole and for each location on its own. Get that right and a third opening stops being a one-off. The refresh modernized the logo, signage, and materials on an identity system built to serve the group and the individual locations alike. That system carried every new piece forward, opening Ellerslie and relaunching Central in the same move. The campaign gave it a voice: "South is the New Central." The line had one job, make it unmistakable that Central was coming to the south side. We pinned down the Ellerslie demographic from the area's median age, businesses, and residential makeup, then ran an expansive media mix to land it. Print, digital, sponsored, direct mail, and radio. ## **The Result** Ellerslie opened to rave reviews and a community that took to it fast. The refresh gave the brand room to grow and the new location a reason to exist. A few years later, that strengthened brand helped position the entire group for a successful acquisition. The work didn't just open a restaurant.
